Sodhi Harbhajan Singh Ji’s Weekly Katha at Home Archives now on YouTube

We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new YouTube series on our channel, that will take you on a journey through time and spirituality. This series features cleaned-up audio recordings from 1991, made by my grandfather, Sodhi Harbhajan Singh Ji, the renowned author of “Bhajan Bandagi da Pratap”. These recordings were made in a weekly interactive katha setting in Chandigarh, India, a regular feature in our family home that brought together people from all walks of life.

In this series, we will be sharing cleaned-up audio recordings from these weekly katha gatherings, offering a rare opportunity to experience the wisdom and teachings of my grandfather and the Sikh community. Originally recorded on audio tape, these were transcoded to CDs back in the early 2000s by my uncle (Tayaji). It seemed that in so doing, the tempo/BPM were compromised, and even though we ripped them to MP3 in the early 2010s, making them available as-is diluted the effect of the recordings. However, under the expert eye of my father, Sodhi Jas Desh Singh Ji, we have tried to clean up the ambient noise and reduce the tempo to match my grandfather’s tone and timbre.

As of 26th August 2024, two out of the ten recordings are on YouTube. I will endeavor to publish one each week.

We hope that these recordings will inspire, guide, and nurture spiritual growth and understanding in all who listen.

Your comments and thoughts are most welcome.
